SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION There is therefore a need for LED chains with reduced assembly costs.
This object is achieved by an LED chain with the features of claim 1. The dependent claims define preferred and / or advantageous embodiments of the invention.
According to embodiments of the invention, LED chains are proposed, which in particular improve the removal of the adhesive protection from the respective LED chain during its assembly. Such LED chains can be installed in a significantly shorter time.
An LED chain according to one embodiment comprises a plurality of LED modules, each of the plurality of LED modules having a rear adhesive surface which is opposite a front radiation surface and is set up to fasten the LED module in a working position, and wherein each of the plurality of LED modules has an adhesive protection element attached to the respective adhesive surface for the adhesive protection of the adhesive surface. The adhesive protection elements of at least two LED modules of the plurality of LED modules are connected to one another via a connecting means in such a way that the adhesive protection elements of the at least two LED modules can be removed together along the LED chain with the aid of the connecting means.
It is particularly advantageous that only by pulling on the connecting means with a single peeling movement, peel off all adhesive protection elements of the at least two LED modules from their respective adhesive surfaces. This applies itself and in particular when the connecting means extends over all LED modules of the LED chain.
When assembling an LED chain at a location, the time and effort attributable to the detachment of the individual adhesive protection elements of the LED modules is therefore almost completely eliminated. The greatest advantage arises when the connection 1/7

Patent office medium throughout along the LED chain across which all LED modules extend.
A light source can be regarded as an LED module, which comprises one or more of light-emitting diode modules (LED chips) mounted on a carrier. Surface-emitting diode modules are preferably used.
The radiation area of the LED module is preferably understood to be that part of a surface of the LED module through which the light-emitting diode modules primarily emit their light.
The adhesive surface can be an adhesive-coated part of the surface of the LED module, which is preferably not identical to the radiation surface of the LED module. For example, a double-sided adhesive-coated adhesive strip attached to a rear side of the LED module can provide such an adhesive surface running along an outer surface of the LED module.
The adhesive protection element can, for example, be a detachably attached element on the adhesive surface of an LED module, which element prevents inadvertent sticking during storage, transport and assembly of the LED modules or the LED chain.
[0015] A width of the adhesive protection elements of the at least two LED modules can correspond to a width of the respective adhesive surfaces.
This leads to an economical space requirement in the storage of the LED modules or the LED chain and to a low cost of materials.
According to one embodiment, the connecting means can be designed as an adhesive protection element which connects the at least two LED modules continuously to one another.
As a result, the adhesive surfaces of the at least two LED modules of the plurality of LED modules can be freed from their common adhesive protection element by means of a single peeling movement.
When assembling an LED chain at its place of use, the time and effort attributable to the detachment of the individual adhesive protection elements of the LED modules is therefore almost completely eliminated. The greatest advantage arises when a continuous adhesive protection element extends along the LED chain across all of the LED modules.
According to one embodiment, a suitably assembled preliminary product can be used as a connecting means in the manufacture of the LED chain, for example, which comprises a continuous adhesive protection element and portions of a double-sided adhesive tape applied to it. Alternatively, a continuous adhesive protection element can be applied to the adhesive surfaces of the plurality of LED modules after these have each been provided with a section of a double-sided adhesive-coated adhesive or adhesive tape in order to provide the respective adhesive surfaces. Both alternatives enable simple production with little expenditure of time.
[0021] The adhesive protection element can be, for example, an adhesive protection strip. Such adhesive protection strips are easy to attach as an elongated and narrow adhesive protection elements along an LED chain. They can be provided as part of a preliminary product or separately as part of the production of the LED chain. If the adhesive protection strip extends over several of the LED modules at the same time, preferably over all LED modules of the LED chain, reliable adhesive protection for the LED modules is achieved on the one hand with little effort, while on the other hand the adhesive surfaces of the LED modules are removed by pulling off the adhesive protection strip can be easily exposed for attachment to a suitable location.
According to a further exemplary embodiment, the connecting means can be designed as a thread, strip, wire or monofilament that connects the at least two LED modules together. Depending on the embodiment, the connecting means thus offers low tear strength and corresponding flexibility or bending properties. The thread can consist of several long and thin natural or artificial

The patent office lent manufactured fibers and can be bent in almost any transverse direction of the LED chain with practically no counterforce. The monofilament can consist of only a single fiber made of plastic with high tensile strength and flexibility in every transverse direction of the LED chain. When using a strip-shaped connecting means, this can be a long, thin element made of a plastic or metal compared to its width. The wire, for example, consists of just a single metal wire with high plastic flexibility in every transverse direction of the LED chain.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the connecting means can be integrated into the adhesive protection elements of the at least two LED modules. The advantage of a connecting means integrated into the adhesive protection elements of the at least two LED modules is that in principle both flat sides of an adhesive protection element provided with the connecting means can be attached to the respectively assigned adhesive surface, which simplifies the manufacture of the LED chain.
[0024] In a further embodiment, the connecting means can be attached to an inside of the adhesive protection elements of the at least two LED modules facing the respective adhesive surface. The advantage of a connecting means fastened on the inside of the adhesive protection elements of the at least two LED modules is a safer function, since the connecting means not only pulls off the adhesive protection elements from the respective adhesive surfaces but even lifts them off when the at least two LED modules are removed.
Connecting means of the type described above can be provided, for example, as part of a preliminary product, for example a double-sided adhesive tape provided with an adhesive protective strip and the connecting means.
According to a further exemplary embodiment of the invention, the connecting means can also be fastened to an outside of the adhesive protection elements of the at least two LED modules facing away from the respective adhesive surface. The advantage of a connection means fastened on the outside of the adhesive protection elements of the at least two LED modules is its simple attachment to the adhesive protection elements. Such connecting means can be subsequently attached to the adhesive protection elements of the multiple LED modules assembled to form an LED chain, i.e. the provision as part of a preliminary product is therefore not necessary, although it is alternatively possible to implement it as part of a correspondingly configured preliminary product.
[0027] According to one embodiment, the connecting means can be fastened to the adhesive protection elements of the at least two LED modules by means of an adhesive connection. An adhesive connection is an easy to implement and inexpensive fastening option that works regardless of the specific shape of the underlying LED modules. Of course, however, any other variants for attaching the connecting means to the individual adhesive protection elements are also possible, as long as the attachment of the connecting means to the adhesive protection elements brings about a mechanical coupling which ensures reliable removal of the adhesive protection elements via the connecting means.
[0028] The plurality of LED modules can be electrically connected to one another. The electrical connection of the LED modules of an LED chain can, depending on the design of the LED modules, preferably be made by connecting them in series or in parallel. Cables consisting of sheathed wires or strands are particularly suitable for electrically connecting the several LED modules of the LED chain. These can have a certain stiffness, so that the cables can also serve as carriers for the LED chain. The manufacture of the LED chain is accordingly simple and inexpensive to implement, the LED chain can also be stored in a practical manner and the LED modules of the LED chain can be easily installed or attached at the desired location.
In general, LED chains according to the previously described embodiments

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings using preferred embodiments.
Figure 1 shows a perspective view of an LED chain according to a first embodiment of the invention;
Figure 2 [3] Figure 4 shows a perspective view of an LED chain according to a second embodiment;
shows a perspective view of an LED chain according to a third embodiment; and shows a perspective view of an LED chain according to a fourth embodiment.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF EXEMPLARY EMBODIMENTS The present invention is explained in more detail below on the basis of preferred embodiments with reference to the drawings. In the figures, the same reference symbols designate the same or similar elements. The figures are schematic representations of various embodiments of the invention. Elements shown in the figures are not necessarily drawn to scale. Rather, the various elements shown in the figures are reproduced in such a way that their function and purpose can be understood by the person skilled in the art.
For the illustration in FIGS. 1 to 4, two LED modules 11 are shown as examples, each representing a section of an LED chain 10, 20, 30, 40 with a plurality of LED modules 11. The front radiation surface of each LED module 11 shown is directed downward in the perspective view. On the back of the respective LED module 11, which lies opposite the radiation surface and points upward in the perspective view, a double-sided adhesive-coated adhesive element or adhesive tape 12 adheres to the entire surface, so that thereby an adhesive surface running along an outer surface of the LED module 11 13 is formed for the assembly of the respective LED module 11 at its place of use. The plurality of LED modules 11 are electrically and mechanically connected to one another along the LED chain 10, 20, 30, 40 via cables 16.
Figure 1 shows a perspective view of an LED chain 10 according to a first embodiment of the invention. In it, the adhesive surfaces 13 of the LED modules 11 are completely covered by an adhesive protection element 14 extending continuously over them and thus protected against unintentional gluing. The adhesive protection element 14 is thus designed as an adhesive protection strip and at the same time serves as a connecting means 15 between the individual LED modules, so that the adhesive surfaces of the individual LED modules can be exposed at the same time by pulling off the adhesive protection strip.
Figure 2 shows a perspective view of an LED chain 20 according to a second embodiment of the invention, in which the adhesive surfaces 13 of the LED modules 11 are each completely covered by their own adhesive protection elements 14 and thus protected against accidental gluing. In addition, a connecting means 15, for example in the form of a thread or thin wire, is provided which extends at least over the two LED modules 11 shown and is integrated or incorporated into the adhesive protection elements 14 of these LED modules 11. In this embodiment, too, the adhesive protection elements 14 of the individual LED modules 11 can simultaneously be pulled off by exerting a tensile force on the connecting means 15 and can thus be exposed in a simple manner.
FIG. 3 shows a perspective view of an LED chain 30 after a third embodiment

Patentamt approximately example of the invention, wherein the adhesive surfaces 13 of the LED modules 11 are each completely covered by their own adhesive protection element 14. A connecting means 15 is provided, which extends over the two LED modules 11 shown. In contrast to the exemplary embodiment in FIG. 2, however, the connecting means 15 is fastened to the individual adhesive protection elements 14 on their underside between the respective adhesive protection element 14 and the respective adhesive tape 12 of the individual LED modules 11. Otherwise, with regard to the design and mode of operation of the connecting means 15, reference can be made to the previous statements relating to FIG.
Figure 4 shows a perspective view of an LED chain 40 according to a fourth embodiment of the invention. The covering of the adhesive surfaces 13 of the LED modules 11 corresponds to that in FIGS. 2 and 3. The connecting means 15 extends again over the two LED modules 11 shown. In contrast to the two previous exemplary embodiments, the connecting means 15 is on the outside on the adhesive protection elements 14, i.e. attached to the top of the respective LED modules 11, preferably by an adhesive connection. With regard to the design and mode of operation of the connecting means 15, in order to avoid repetition, reference can again be made to the previous explanations relating to FIGS.
